By Jove!, I think I've got it, Stefan.
I am just copying all of Moon's Instagram pics.

I had to learn to reproduce what I see, because of my profession.

pre 1946 Stetson merger Mallory Ten Premier"

The first pic is Moon's, the rest are mine.

Yesss Max, now you are cooking! Such a rich color. Great period bow work.

Wegener "Seal" with side vents and mesh liner. The felt is very light weight with a Chamois like finish which Wegener called "Seal".

The finish on that one is super. Love the light weight mesh liner.

I like that one, but I think this one's my new favorite, and right now I can't imagine another one debunking it.

Another stunner Max. I think you are on the right track to be a true collector.

Flattened the new-to-me O’Farrell’s brim a bit. Also swapped the leather band for some beads. Still a bit damp...

It looks like a completely different hat!

New Premire Whippet, Stetsons Royal De Luxe 150th Anniversary Edition in sage. Whoa, this is some nice felt. And a vintage style straight crown. Photo bombing 'skeeter got on the back of my hat.

I like the sage color, I have a Excellent (now premier) Stratoliner. Don't wear it enough. Love the lines on this Whippet. About the only way to get a Stetson worth wearing today is to pop for the top drawer level constructions.

Off to the movies again. Denzel usually delivers, and we did enjoy the Equalizer II (didn't know there was an original Equalizer...)

Sporting the VS grade 12 Panama from Cuenca. Very nice lightweight straw with Art's classic bow work/ribbon treatment.

Nice Grade 12 Doug. How about a detail shot of Art's ribbon work. Love it.

Steven, what are those "buttons" with letters on the inside of the sweatband? I have seen them before, but with different letters. Are they the previous owners initials? Or the restorer's?

I need to find me some more Wegeners, they are just awesome. The lightweight would work great for me here in Texas. :)
Thanks! I hope you find some.

Max, They are the initials of a previous owner. Normally they would be applied by the hat store. You also see them on some pre WWII American Hats. In Germany they are still occasionally used today. Hat stores in Germany usually have old stock. Stetson Europe also makes a modern version. They have a nice appearance but cut into the sweatband.
