Vera Lynn -- Too Many Rivers

I wish I could come back to you, dear
I know that you want me to
But too much water's run under that old bridge
There's too many rivers between me and you

There's just too many rivers to cross, dear
Too many dreams have been lost
And there's too many long nights I've turned and I've tossed
There's too many rivers to cross

Now don't think for a moment I blame only you
We both killed the fruit on the vine
And when you tried to put love back together
There's always a few little pieces you can't find

This popped into my head and I can't shake it. Sorry...

On my jukebox is the original 1956 version of lincoln Chase's Jim Dandy, sung by LaVern Baker. A record that I have always enjoyed.

Next time you see a street musician, try dropping a coin in the collection box. You never know, you might just be treated to Beethoven's Ode to Joy. Quite apt actually because it was chosen to represent the European Union. "All men will be brothers." (unless you want out that is.)
