Apparently those miniature jackets are meant to be salesman samples which back in the day I assume were given away for free while potential resellers were thinking to become stockers for the brand. At least this is what I think to remember I read somewhere.

Back in the 30s-50s(?) in the US, comnig up to Christmas you could buy little miniature fedoras. They acted as a sort of gift token, the idea being if you wanted to buy someoned a hat for Christmas but didn'tg know the size, you paid for it and gave them, one of these, which they then exchanged aftrer Christmas for the correct size hat. Don't know if they ever did anything similar with jackets, but the idea of sales sampes for quality of workmanship makes sense.

Funy thing is, the Grizzly looked ok - it's the bottom one that gave the game away because the zips are so comically over-sized. (Almostl ike a characateur of some 70s British bike jackets with ludicrously big zips).

You mean that we were supposed to exchange them for the real thing? Damn!

I asked Langlitz about the Death's head cascade recently (it is my favourite langlitz), apparently you can only get one if you are one of the chosen ones:

"As for the Death’s Head Cascade…. It just doesn’t fit everyone. Probably the reason Ross stopped making them decades ago. The only solution we found is this: You have to actually try one on first. If it fits ok, we can make you one. The only places we will make changes, are the sleeve length and the body length for a little more cost. You can submit some measurements as you would for any other jacket, and John can take a look and let you know if you’re a candidate for one or not. I’ve attached a blank jacket order form, and our “how to measure” pictorial if you want to give it a go."
