These should be appropriate here......1922. Each describes the Crown Height and brim width.....lists both a soft and stiff Stetsonian!!!!!!

Amazing hats here, truly fabulous. Out of curiosity I have done a little delving and found a few photos.
Popular cap of the 1920's known as "Newsboy."
The boater hat was another very popular style. Here Douglas Fairbanks is seen holding his boater. The lady is Mary Pickford.
The Panama has stood the test of time, the picture below is that of Economist Irving Fischer,
Another hat of the period that gave gravitas and status was the bowler, or Derby. The photo below resembles that of what was once known as a stockbroker.
The Homburg was holding it's own too, is 'the bash' on the hat of the fellow on the right, for real?
And as the 1920's was the decade of prohibition it will always be the Fedora that is so closely associated with law breakers. I tell you what, I wouldn't want to meet any of these guys, especially the one on the left.
Finally this is a police photo of one Herbert Ellis, law breaker.
One thing that I did find of interest was that of The Crofut & Knapp Hat Company. Here's an interesting and fascinating short history on the firm that morphed into Dobbs. http://www.thehattedprofessor.com/crofutknapp.html
