Alan has had it for 3 weeks today...hopefully I get a shipping notice soon. I was told 10 days but that time frame has long passed. Natural shearling, like a big toasted marshmallow right on top! It'll be like getting a new jacket!

I may be just as excited as you are. Eventually I will own another Cal straight zip.

The leather on that looks really matte compared to old Cal leather. Almost like a Schott naked cowhide vibe.
If you get an opportunity to take close up shots in natural light one day it would be great.
If you have an old Cal to take side by side shots even better!

It is more matte but not overly matte. The hide is different from vintage Cal. One of these days I'll do a quick write up and better pics. The leather is thick, measuring 1.5mm plus, but very comfortable and pliable at the same time. The lining and mouton is superb feeling too.
