I have bought several vintage flanges off of eBay over the past couple years and still don’t have what I need. I need a flange that will fit a 7 3/8 with the ribbon and bow still on. Allen’s flanges look like they have a nice upturn that would make a nice snap brim. I want the curl that the modern Stetsons ( like the Whippet) have and try to get one flange that will work with the majority of my hats. I am at around 40 including modern, custom and several vintage.
Does anyone have any of his flanges and can comment ? They would only be used lightly and occasionally.
Thanks,
Randy

I can vouch for the custom block he made for me. He nailed it perfectly. I haven't had one bit of problem with it. Personally I wouldn't be afraid to get one of his flanges. In fact, his method is so spot on that I plan to get some flanges from him, myself. I had some custom wood flanges with a custom wood block made last Summer from another supplier and they were no where near what I wanted. I don't even use them. But yeah, Randall Allen nailed the block profile perfectly for me and so far it seems very durable.
