Hi all,

Need some help here. I just got the wife an antique typewriter desk. Well, whomever owned it previously took out the mechanism and secured the top permanently. Well, now she wants it function correctly. Anyone know where I can get the mechanism? Looked on eBay and Etsy already.

thanks,

mike

Ok a before, after and the typewriter. The original desk ended up as end tables for the couch. Not happy about it but the time and effort to see if anyone would want it dictated a different avenue. But they do work really well.

whoa!!!! Gorgeous desk! its high on my list to get a 1930's/40's teacher's desk similar in style but without the typewriter bay. one day. really impressed with that desk and what a great typewriter! you did well! and hey, the other desk was repurposed so I'm sure it adds to the character and charm of your room to have them as end tables! thanks for sharing!

Teachers' desks (including a near-twin of 1930artdeco's) have been popping up on Facebook all summer. A friend just bought two for his pre-teen daughters, cost a sawbuck per plus gas money to pick them up.
