So after really wanting Aero leather halfbelt after my highwaymen I finally went to shop that had some Aero leather in stock as well as other brand my mind drastically changed when I tried Y2 leather jacket.

For me the being 6 foot 2 and decently built the size 44 was amazing. Not as heavy of a leather but I feel in love with the jacket. The fit and feel was so much better point that I felt disappointed with the Aero leather in size 44. ( Only do due the fact that the waist is much wider and does not sit as well on me)

Going to be saving up for it for the next little bit I guess.

Size 44 sits and fits amazing.

Horse hide and the fit is slimer because it's for the Japanese market.

Awesome! I love my y’2 rough out type II. The jackets are very well made and the styles are great. Elegant and simple designs. Where on earth were you able to try one on?!?

I live in Japan in Nagoya. But there is a shop in Tokyo that I made a weekend trip for just to try on leather jackets to get a fill for my obsession. Now I have a few $ that I got to put aside to pick one up lol. Or sell a few of my schotts lol. At this point have 4 schotts and one Aero but this one felt more like me then any other jacket that I have so might be selling some jackets to found this piece.

Did they have this jacket in stock? I’ve been emailing with folks at Tempo about this jacket.

This one fit me well and I'm 6 foot 2 and 200ish pounds will measure chest size once I get back to Nagoya tonight but it is slim fit I would call it. But sleeves are great for me and so is length

I saw this one too. Simple but Beautiful. How is their sizing? Standard Japanese fit? (Tight chest)
My 42” type II is a fairly generous fit. 23.5” chest, longer sleeve (26”) and body 26.5”. I don’t think their sizing remains that way across the range though. I was told mine was a very boxy cut. Personally I wouldn’t describe it that way but it fits me very differently than the shots I’ve seen or the tempo site example:

I am curious about how the other jackets are sized and the hide itself. That green one is advertised as 4.5oz HH. It certainly looks the part in the photos.

Indeed that HB you posted does look ideal for taller gents like yourself. I am 5’11 and feel that jacket would be too long for me.

By the way, the type II looks a whole lot better on you than on the Tempo guy.

Goes down hill in a hurry from the chin up. LOL. If you get a chance to go back and handle that green machine (if they have one) I’d be curious to hear your thoughts.

Will do once I sell some of my other jackets and hopefully be back here in a month

How would you compare Y'2 leather jacket overall quality things like stitch count and evenness, overall construction, leather, and fit vs aero or RMC? I'm interested myself in the SR-64.

The things that I can say are, leather is slightly lighter and easier to move in from the get go.

The construction (at least to me) feels just as good and sits on me much nicer then the Aero (tried on half belt, highwaymen and the Japanese only STF halfbelt) but that has a lot to do with body shape.

it is slightly longer in the body and the bi-swing allowed for an easier movement with my hands.

Did not look at the thread count sorry.

It is nice even if a little expensive lol cost me $200 just for train there and back. Good thing I have a buddy who lives in Tokyo so did not have to pay for a place to stay.

Thanks, I'm trying to pull the funds together now before they sell out but considering my buying habits last few months have left me with little budget for jacket until I sell some of what I bought lol.

(Picked up 2 schotts, a 643 and a No.3161042) I will be keeping the 3161042 because got it got a great deal and fits better then the 643.

Man, $200 that's not cheap. That's a good chunk of the jacket itself.
Tokyo is really something else!

Not familiar w/ Schott, is the brown one the keeper? The black schott kinda like looks to me like the one you're wanting to get from Y2.

I was supposed to visit Tokyo last March but the pandemic had other ideas. Which store do you recommend people visit for leather jacket needs? Thanks

Yes 200 is a chunk of the jacket but it was also long weekend so good chance for me to visit my friend who I have not seen in a while. So it turned out to be a 2 for 1 kind of deal for me.

Yes the brownish one is the one I plan to keep as it fits better then the black one.

I went to the following shop, as they have a bunch of different high end leather jackets as well as other shops that you might want to visit. Not sure if it's the best place but had what I wanted. Now if you wanted something by freewheelers or real mccoys or one of the other brands that are Japan based you would have to search specially for them.
