Vintage neon signs

Yeah, right. Oh, I believe the "1 day service" part, but I don't think there's such a thing as a clean governor. :D

Love the sign, but disappointed to see that it appears that neither the windmill itself nor the wind (I'm assuming that's what the squiggly lines to the left and right of the windmill are) light up. Now that would have been really cool (and expensive to make and maintain).
I definitely agree there was a missed opportunity if the windmill wasn't lit, and more so if it wasn't lit to make the "blades" appear to be spinning. But I think the "squiggly" lines are intended to represent clouds in the distance behind the windmill. Of course, I could be wrong, but for me that's part of the fun of viewing signs like this--seeing how they've represented whatever they're trying to advertise.

After reading your comments and going back to the pic, I think you are correct and those are clouds. Good call.

Since 1937 ... now, apparently, it will be removed. Sorry San Francisco....
"The company said it is shifting its advertising dollars away from traditional marketing to digital platforms." In simpler terms, maintaining the sign is costing The Coca-Cola Company more than they believe it's worth so they're going to tear it down regardless of tradition or how the general public feels about it.
