Wow! They always seem to get the nicest condition vintage pieces. Some of the nicest condition Hercs I've ever seen have been on their IG page.

They also have a Durable for sale. It looks amazing.

I was just thinking the same thing. They have an incredible assortment of vintage jackets for sale. And they all are in great condition.

I saw that these guys also have some cool looking trousers! Did you ever handle anything from them? How would you rate them overall?

@red devil Their deer trousers last forever - my uncle has an old Meindl leather trouser (wearing during Oktoberfest and other occasions like Bavarian weddings, etc.) and it looks fantastic and getting/looking better and better....it was treated with liters of beer, roast pork, etc. You definitely can't go wrong with Meindl and IMO the rather high price is justified.

They even offer a "Daytona" or other styles made of high quality deer:

Got some traditional shorts from them (as does Mr Proper). Deerskin is unlike any other leather (I have handled...). It´s very pliable and soft, yet extremely durable. It makes for a unique look, as there is no break-in in the usual sense. Personally, I don´t think it looks good on every style (I wouldn´t go for a MC jacket).

Price of Meindl is rather high for a OTR-only manufacturer but value is still good.

That second coat looks very interesting!
The german tanneries seem to offer a lot of interesting deer leather, very different from those I have. I just need to make sure I get the right size for trousers, they could become daily wearers.

The other option for something like this is Wildfang. I want to visit them before I order anything, but it might take quite some time before things open up. They told me they have a ot of unique hides in small quantities. Do you have an idea of how they compare to Meindl in terms of construction - I have understood they are made to measure or bespoke.

Meindl is a well known larger company (at least in Germany and Austria) for traditional Bavarian leather clothing at high quality level whereas Wildfang is just for Vintage clothing insiders (only a small company having one shop as far as I know) and they do custom made jackets whereas Meindl doesn't as far as I know. The show owner of Kentaurus, Cologne also ordered one leather jacket style from Wildfang some time ago and Kentaurus only offers high quality stuff. I think you can't go wrong with either of them. Unfoturnately Wildfang no longer offer the 4mm thick deerskin but I think they still offer the >4mm thick Bullneck (they made one jacket of this and I almost bought it years ago...3000€...)

The first one looks really cool and the Wildfang one would perfectly match a Electric Leather Studio or FW Hipsters Reunion jacket...not sure how yours would match that colour
