That looks really good, you couldn't ask for a better fit.
That whole Aero VAT thing is weird though, you basically paid VAT twice on that jacket, once to the UK, once to Germany.
Is that even legal?

Aero told me they have a world wide price so they won’t subtract the UK VAT for customers from the EU.
There is already a long thread about that:

Exporting jackets is more convenient for them. They pocket 20% (UK VAT) less on UK sales. On the other hand foreign customers pay xxx% more on the full UK price including UK VAT. It is a very weird policy. Don’t think it’s illegal as such but certainly I wouldn’t buy from them on principle if I lived outside the UK.

Perfect! Waiting for a very similar one from Carrie. What size is this?

Those import taxes played a role in my order. I understood that currently UK VAT is not deduced (there may be plans for the new site, if I understood Holly correctly), which narrows the gap between Thurston and Aero direct.
The color and long-term appeal (recently saw some great mildly aged Seal Vicenzas on this forum) sold me as well on Dark Seal Vicenza for the Hooch, although the Badalassi samples were great as such. I hope for a similarly good fit. Personally went with 42, in the hope that being able to pull in the side adjusters is better than barely fitting in a 40 (big concern would have been hem width for such a rather long jacket style).

This is a 42. I am 178cm and 79kg. Chest is 42 inch. I‘m realy lucky with the fit, especially because it is a jacket from the stock page.

I love the Dark Seal Vicenza. It is the perfect weight and colour for this type of jacket. But I think this will not be the last one and I will try other Leather, too.

As for the VAT: Brexit is a mess. I hope there will be a solution soon. Taxes and fees between the EU and the UK are looking unnatural for me.

thanks for the data - confirms my choice of 42, but that does not mean it fits as good as yours

Hey Guys,

I'm new here. I would like to share some pictures of my new Aero Hooch Hauler. I bought the jacket a few days ago from Aero's stock page. Unfortunately I had to pay import fees for the delevery to germany (over 200 euros all in all).

The leather is dark seal vicenza. I like these leather very much. It is mid-weight with a smmoth touch. The colour is perfect for this model in my opinion. I'm realy happy with the jacket. The fit is great, too.

So, here we go...
Wow. Knocked it out of the park!

Wow what an incredible fit on that jacket! That's my favorite Aero model and I don't think it would fit me well, but it fits you basically perfectly. The whole outfit is quite good as well. One of the best first posts on this forum that I can remember! Welcome!

Thanks again to all of you.

I measured my well fitting jackets and developed an idea how the measurements of the Aero had to be. Fortunately I was not into a special model or leather, so I watched out the stock page from Aero for some weeks. As I saw this model I pull the triger, immediatly. So I gues I was lucky!

I hear what you're saying about the Vac I brought it up in other threads. I do not understand why it would not be legal to make more on sales outside the UK in fact I think it is good business.

I am confused. Was the import charge into Germany Vat taxes or customs fees?
Probably both. In general, when importing an item in the EU, and depending on the type of item and its' value, you have to pay three different fees: a) VAT, b) import duty, c) declaration costs.
Last time I got a jacket from the US I had to pay a) 21% of value + shipping as VAT; b) 4% of value + shipping as import duty, and c) 12e as declarations costs.
