Jack your pics at the bar remind me what a terrific social time can be had. I do need to make time.

Cheers on the chcken wings and a beer. Mmmm, Mmmm good.

Today’s haul at Costco. View attachment 407472
My hat’s a Huckel. Etsuko’s, a Maxim.

Ok, that is a true haul. Lots to like about your pic.

Yesterday evening I enjoyed a Surley Brewing pilsner. A terrific way to put the seal on a long week of work.

This morning finds me grilling a pork steak, vegetables and then serving it with wild rice. A Founders All Day IPA was a tasty beer for the outside grilling. The new snow makes the backyard picturesque. On the negative, the wet snow makes shoveling a pain.

I've actually been to one of those. And before the peanut gallery erupts, it was as a guest speaker.
I had an experience once & after telling a friend about it he invited me to attend a meeting of the Psychic Studies Institute with him. It was a private membership & vetted group but I didn't think anything about it. About half way thru the meeting there was a 15 Min break. Out on the patio outside I overheard two women talking & one said to the other, "I see tonight's speaker showed up." First I knew the planned speaker was me!

Eric,

Don't know how far you are from your GC but they will be tapping two Irish Ales during March. First will be their Burning Barns Irish Red Ale & then my personal favorite of all their seasonal's, their Raising Ladders Irish Red Ale which is firkin aged with Elijah Craig Bourbon. Both honor the Irish Fire brigades of old & Saint Patrick's Day. Tapping soon near you.

I’ve heard a lot about that stick, not had the pleasure yet. Just about anything by AJ is a friend of mine. Enjoy.

I haven't been in Westport to Fidel's in a while (parking is a big problem) but the other tobacconist here don't carry them. You have to ship them in.

Speaking of shipping in, I was going to buy some stuff from CA last wk until I learned I'd have to pay CA state tax & shipping, plus a 45% excise tax on all tobacco products!

I get almost all of my tobacco online. Taxes in New York are effing ridiculous. Almost as bad as Cali. Every now and then I’ll stop in the lounge for a stick but mostly to bs with the guys for a while.

We have about 5 tobacconist in the metro area, I think. They sell their own brand first & limited selection after. Pipe tobacco tins are priced outrageous & don't even think about buying a pipe there.

Jack I will check at the local GC on Sunday. I hope the Raising Ladders is available. Like previous late winters, I am ready for a change in beer selection. I do have a couple of whiskey bottles on hold at Ace for me to meander down and pick-up. Nice folks when you pay up front.

cheers, Eric -

It’s been a few hours since my third Covid jab and I feel fine so we opened a bottle of barley wine - a 10.5% beer that is aged for six months rather than the usual two weeks. Very nice it was. The description on the bottle says full bodied (yes), toffee (yes, absolutely), and coffee (yeah, now you mention that, maybe I can taste that). Anyhow, it was very aromatic and tasty.

The hat is the Stetson Custom V that I wore to get the jab.
The felt colour is…Barley Wine.

Enjoying a break in the snow storm cleanup with a dram of Glen Moray 18 Elgin Heritage Speyside with a Peters Bros Shady Oak Bankers Special 7X Seventy-five. I'm enjoying this Malt more now as an aperitif than I did after a meal. Raisins & nuts, vanilla, baked apple crisp. I really like Speysides with nose & palate of raisins, figs, nuts & brown sugar molasses. I understand now why this was ranked the #1 scoring Single Malt for 2017.
