Putting up for sale my custom Vanson Model B size 36 Competition Weight. I custom ordered this from Vanson last summer, and received the jacket late November. It fit sooo good; too good. I've gained a bit of weight since that time, and I prefer a less snug fit.

The thing has been worn probably a handful of times, all in my house except one night out for dinner. It is in like new condition. Hasn't even started to break in.

Customizations:
-Silver hardware
-Side buckles delete for a cleaner look
-Sleeves shortened 1.85"

Measurements:
-Shoulder: 17.5
-P2P: 21
-Length: 24.75
-Sleeve: 23.75

$500 + Shipping, PPFF

Potential trades: Model B or C2 size 38 in like condition; otherwise not interested.

Thanks!

Is the sleeve measurement from the outer shoulder seam? Not the action back seam, right?

Oh yes, for sure. From the outer shoulder seam, NOT the action back panel. Same goes for the shoulder width: From outer shoulder seam to outer shoulder seam.

What are your measurements, or rather before you gained weight. How tall, weight, measurements? Just trying to get a better idea of how this might fit me.

I'm 5'8" 150lb right now. The model B still fits, but it's more snug than I prefer, as I want to be able to layer. Some people might say it fits perfect, but the current fit is not my preference. When I ordered it, I was about 140lbs. The weight gain is mostly from working out. My chest was ~37, and is now ~39.

Gotcha. I'm 5'8" 135 lbs so that would probably be about right for me. What's the bottom hem width? What is the Vanson Comp Weight hide like? Does it squeak? Is it quite stiff like horsehide? I love my Schott Horsehide and am looking for something similar feeling, if you're familiar at all. Would you be willing to negotiate on the price at all?

Bottom hem is about 18.5-19”. This jacket drapes so well for something this stiff. Very flattering silhouette.
I think most would agree that comp weight is pretty awesome. Not as great as old comp weight, but still great. Thick and stiff.
Minor squeak at this stage.
I’ve never owned Schott HH but tried on plenty in the store. To me this feels similar: Thick, stiff, and kind of shiny.
Not much room to negotiate price (the thing’s practically new and if these customizations are to your taste, it’s an absolute steal), but msg me if you’re interested.

Tried to capture the shine or rather sheen here:

One correction: This has NO squeak. It's basically new.

I didn't quite understand the question. I recently acquired an older jacket with tons of squeaks/creaks. This Model B has NONE of that squeaking/creaking.

Do you think the leather is heavy enough protection on a bike? I have worn armored jackets before but really would like something more comfortable while still protective.

I wouldn't be able to comment on whether it is 'enough' protection. I will say that compared to a Schott 613 of nearly identical condition, the Vanson has thicker leather.

No thanks, not interested in buying. I already purchased a 38 from Vanson. It's one of my favorite jackets and I wear it a decent amount.
