Fit Check Vanson Slim Fit Oxford 42

I’m thinking one size down would be a better fit. The first few pics are with a sweater and the others are with just a tshirt. What do you guys think? Sorry about the poor lighting!

The jacket fits the figure well. If you are going to wear a jacket with a sweater, you should leave it as it is. One size smaller, there is a risk that the jacket will sit very tightly and there will be discomfort.

But it's worth trying a size smaller so that there are no unnecessary thoughts in your head

I was just trying to show how loose the fit was under the armpits haha. The only other jacket I have to compare this one to is my Comet in a 42 and this one feels a little baggy.

I like it in the pictures.
On closer inspection, I notice that there is actually a bit of material around the chest.
But I don't think it's so bad that it's unwearable. If you like it and feel comfortable, have fun breaking it in.

I'd definitely try a one size down if that is possible. This is okay for heavy layering, but not very good for t-shirt only.

It looks fine to me. I had two of these jackets (Oxford and B) before and they're comfortable walk around all day jackets. If you want slimmer fits maybe look at the Royale (Enfield) model 4024, that one is slimmer than the Oxford/B.

The pictures are not ideal. Can you try with daylight and with omitting the downward angle? The later enhances the upper half of the jacket and make it appear longer than it is.

In any event, I don’t think the jacket is ‚obviously too big‘. Certainly not fitted, but a nice, casual style. Leather is great too, although I have yet too see how Bainbridge ages.

I have the same issue with a 42 Vanson Enfield I bought lately - sleeves and shoulders and length perfect but baggy chest /armpits. I layer it over a very thick alpaca cardigan with Shaw collar and it’s a perfect fit. Because I wanted a winter jacket that allows layering I’ve decided to keep it.

So the OP should think about primary use - if it’s intended for a 3 seasons all year round jacket I’d size down for sure. New jackets should fit snug but not hurting under armpits - remember leather does stretch slightly once broken in

Approx. 3 inches.
So e.g. 43.5‘ circumference = 46.5’ jacket = 23.25 - 23.5 P2P

I’m 41 3/4 chest, 34” waist, 6’1, and 180lbs.
