Some guys got it and most guys don't. Excellent ennsemble. And those shoes.Big leaf pattern, such is Tina's skill you wouldn't believe that there's a ****** pocket on all of these shirts. View attachment 705022
To my kid- brain, the hallmark of a quality tropical shirt is how well the pattern lines up with the pockets and bodyView attachment 705020 View attachment 705021

Shoes? You have noticed my penchant for shoes. As well as a talented milliner making my hats, I know a skilled cordwainer, name of Colin Johnson. https://www.colinjohnsonshoes.com/Some guys got it and most guys don't. Excellent ennsemble. And those shoes.
My wife read your comment, punched the air, and gave a loud: "Yesss!" Your compliment made her day. Thank you.To my kid- brain, the hallmark of a quality tropical shirt is how well the pattern lines up with the pockets and body
Your weather looks glorious Jon and the sunshine yellow of your shirt just makes a great photo.Wearing the vintage Sun Surf Honolulu Oxford style shirt today teamed with linen cargo pants, Madrid very hot this week, mid 30s going to 37c weekendView attachment 706406

Despite a day or two of rain, our weather has been most enjoyable. The petals on my rhododendrons (I can never spell that word, always have to look it up,) where was I? The rhododendrons never bloom for long but what a glorious burst of colour when they do.
The shirt isn't being worn open neck style, if you look carefully you will see that Tina designed the shirt with a lapel. It looks similar to an unbuttoned open neck but that lapel has a reinforced stiffening fabric inside, it gives structure to the lapel appearance. The lady really is a talent.
You are both looking good Jon, compliments to you. I certainly don't envy the Madrid heat. We are taking our 1947 MG to https://poolegoesvintage.com/ Poole Goes Vintage today. I shall dress up in period suit or blazer, but not for long.Still very hot in Madrid, third heatwave, linen and rayon the order of the day, both of uslinen cargo pants Aloha shirt, and Traditional Spanish Menorquinas on my feet, my wife a rayon dress
Cheers my friend, how you doing in that UK heat? Here it's been upwards of 36-38c every day, yesterday was the coolest in a while at 31c I'll definitely check those photos but a happy Sunday from usYou are both looking good Jon, compliments to you. Our weather is not that far behind that of Spain. The Aloha shirt will be on a hanger to change into later. Photos to come later but if you click on that link, go to the gallery, scroll down to the seventh row, third photo is of the MG at last year's event.

Thank you for the compliment. My knowledge of cars is limited, looking at the one you ask, "is it a Mk3?" I'm tempted to say, "It's an Inspector Morse Jaguar." However, you see the letter "C" a the end of the licence plate, it denotes the year of registration. C being 1965. The Mk 3 came out in 1967, so it's my guess that the car in the photo is a Mk2.Looking good the pair of youthat Jag, mkIII no?
Love them Rick, not quite retired but they fit in with Madrid life here,Just arrived today... A couple more dirt cheap Paradise Found shirts from ebay. Wrinkles from the shipping and smell like Febreeze fabric freshener, but in great condition ( just one little stain from someones margarita that Ill work on). Always fun to find a couple I didnt have.

AND..... another Pendleton Bamboo fabric shirt. These are noticably softer than cotton, and supposedly hold up much better than all cotton... we will see.

Im proud to say that my retired life easily accommodates such shirts! Have pulled a suit out exactly twice in 5-1/2 yrs. Have even entertained turning some nice silk ties into Pugarees for straw hats since they dont get used much. The casual life is good. Always amazes me just how different a shirt looks under different hats
Your right, I checked, Mk2, loved Inspector Morse John Thaw, I've educated my wife here in Spain and she's watched the series, same colour though, beautiful carThank you for the compliment.
