I think this is a hat sold 9 July 1956 (there is a paper under the sweatband with this date) hat. It is rather small a size, only 55 (or Borsalino 4) and maybe it is a model called MULA (which in Italian is the feminine of Mule)

The hat is in great shape for its age, the felt is very soft indeed.

It is an Homburg but without a stitched brim BUT it is not as stiff as many homburgs are , so it can perhaps be worn also as a Fedora, I think (the hat is too small for me) by bringing the brim down.

I would prefer selling this hat in Europe as it is cheaper to ship and less complicated but in principle can be sent anywhere.

Shipping from the NL.

I would like to have €75 for the hat (Paypal F&F) + €25 for Europe , €10 for the NL or €40 for the rest of the world

I see many people collecting hats, not necessarily in their size. No this won't fit me but then again most hats available on the Vintage market don't .

It would certainly make a very nice hat for a lady though!

Still for sale

Well, I am an amateur hatter. And the guy whose video course I learned from recommended I get a nice "custom hat" so I can study its construction, trimming, see what I can learn, etc. Borsalino is good for that, I would think. So now I am reconsidering, even though I would much rather be able to wear whatever I buy.

Sadly I have no lady to even consider for sizing.

I picked up a Leon Drexler (custom made by Stephen Temkin) off FB Marketplace and the seller came to me.. It is a 6 7/8", pure beaver, a $1000 hat, made by one of THE Best hatters (now retired) and cost me $50. Score of my life. Luckily it fits my wife and she loves it. But I would have purchased it anyway....just because.

I cannot go any lower than this ^

Unfortunately the shipping is beyond my control, parcels abroad are expensive, maybe domestic can be cheaper but that is pretty much it

I wonder why , at this price ( €25 + shipping) this hat is still in my possession?

Ok it is size 55 which is small for the average man's. size but it is a great hat at a great price.
