FS: Well loved vintage size 42 Vanson C2 $150

Selling this beauty I picked up locally. Mostly wanted to give a Vanson a whirl and see if I liked a cross-zip on the more fitted side. Turns out I really do love this jacket but the sleeves are just too short for me and I'm better off finding one that fits me better in its place. Will happily wear this if no one is interested but I figured I'd rather pass it along for a decent deal for someone that fits into it better.

This is a really sweet vintage (probably early 80s? not sure but the OG buyer bought it in the 80s and the tag is then older style) C2 that has had the belt removed and also I believe had the sleeves shortened (please check the measurements, the right sleeve is a touch shorter than the left). Also has some wear and tear on the lining on one of the sleeves as picture.

Other than that, it's in pretty good shape. It's definitely been worn and has the requisite traits of a used jacket but it's got a lot of character and some beautiful gran. nice and heavy leather, this thing weighs 5lb 9 oz.

• Pit ot pit 20.5
• Shoulder: 20 full 18.5 sort of split
• Sleeve: 23.5 straight from shoulder to end of cuff, 24.25 articulated alongside whole sleeve.
  • 22 and 22.5 on the right sleeve, respectively.
• Length: 22.5 ish on back, it’s curled. 26 in front from collar. 23.5 shoulder down.
• Hem: 16.5

Selling for what I paid for, $150 plus shipping to the US. Also open to trades! Mostly likely a 44 but may be a 42 depending on the jacket. I am in NYC, for reference.

I'm hoping it will be for the right person!

It seems like Vanson's sell pretty high second hand w/r/t their retail price versus other brands, and I don't see many posted on these classifieds despite the popularity of the brand around here (which, hey, maybe that's exactly why nobody wants to sell theirs).

But I will just urge any prospective buyer to make sure you check the sleeve length. Hoping someone in a 42 who needs short sleeves will come across this one as it would be perfect for them.

Since Vanson don’t sew their cuffs this should be easy to let out if they have left enough leather and you don’t mind one row of stitch holes and slightly shorter gussets (also the work looks quite bad so you could probably get a better result from DIY!). If you can measure how far the turned-in leather extends down the sleeves this will be useful info to the prospective buyer.

It does appear there is a few inches of leather to 'let out' if need be. It definitely doesn't look like the finest hemming work so I may look into this if nobody ends up interested in this one because I can wear it now just fine but if the sleeves were fixed it would be easy to keep.
