Looking to Up My Hat Game – Flat Cap / Duckbill Recommendations

Growing older, losing hair, and now with a clean-shaved head, it feels like it’s time to step up my hat game as the cold is coming. I’ve always worn some kind of headgear, baseball caps in my youth, and I still wear trucker caps from Stetson on occasion, depending on the weather. Lately though, I’ve been preferring Stetson’s Texas flat caps (also known as a duckbill cap).

That said, I’d like to broaden my horizons a bit and check out other makers offering similar styles. I don’t want to focus solely on Stetson’s lineup.

If anyone has recommendations for good-quality flat caps, preferably made from wool, I’d really appreciate the suggestions.

Sterkowski has a store on Amazon - they are a reputable maker for a decent price. They are not high end like some of the caps you will see in the thread shared by @rogueclimber, but they are a good starter brand.

(There is a dedicated Sterkowski thread on TFL. You can use the search function to dig it up.)

PS: I see you are in Sweden. Sterkowski is actually a Polish brand so you might want to sort out how to order directly from them in Europe, which is totally possible.

PPS, welcome aboard!

Check out Monsivais, a small shop in LA. He has a webpage, same name. Also, Ketih LoBlue..."A well dressed head"....wonderful period correct caps using vintage materials.
