Harley Davidson Cross Zip by Vanson in Size Large (L)

This jacket was purchased last year at the end of riding season and never worn (besides trying on a few times). Ultimately, it's just too big for me and I'm not going to wear it so I am moving it along. This is part of Harley's Originals line and has no HD branding besides the label. Hidden collar and lapel snaps, black zippers on sleeves and main (two-directional main zipper). I'm not sure if this is Vanson's new competition weight. While it feels like the same thickness, it is more supple in the hand. Non smoking home - has been hanging in closet since purchased. I'll include free shipping for forum members in lower 48-USA. Marked size large but seems (to me) to be closer to XL. Lastly, it looks shiner in the pics due to my ceiling light (sorry). No belt (didn't come with one).

Measurements (taken zipped laying flat). Please note that jacket has a quilt lining.

P2P (stretched out to get to lay flat): 25"
Sleeve (from shoulder seam straight to cuff): 26.25"
Waist (straight across where belt would go): 22"
Shoulder (straight across back): 19"
Back length (from where collar meets body to bottom hem): 27.25

Price: $370.00

This is made by VANSON for the HD Bar & Shield collection. It's not their competition weight. It's a US cowhide that was upgraded using tumbling and staking techniques and the "satin" finish was specified by HD in-house designer.

I have both the jacket and the vest. For some reason, the jacket runs big so I had to downsize for the jacket and my usual size for the vest.

Here's the vest.

As I stated, I wasn't sure if it was their competition weight or not. Having owned 10+ Vanson jackets, the leather feels just as heavy as the competition weight but more supple (it might actually be heavier than the last comp weight CHP I bought).

Right. And that's why I provided you a confirmation that it's not.

"I'm not sure if this is Vanson's new competition weight."

I was merely giving you additional information, I wasn't saying that you were wrong as you clearly indicated that you weren't sure.

Please note: jacket does come with belt with black buckle (can't edit original post). Totally forgot it came with one which I removed so the buckle couldn't scratch anything. So yeah, there's a belt.

Thank you for the info, I just purchased one on eBay, smaller size than this but the dimensions look like it'll fit me perfectly.

I'm wondering if there's any other info you can give or if you have original listing from a website link or the like? Is that cowhide that is upgraded equivalent to the comp or is it just something else all together?

Please forgive me, I'm pretty new to leather jackets so I'm just learning the ropes. Any and all information will be appreciated!

My hope Is that the leather is strong enough to last at least a decade or more and is tough enough to handle everyday rough housing.

Thank you!

Also per some digging and with some help from AI, I found this supporting info:

What model it most likely is
Based on the styling you showed earlier (classic moto/biker cut with belt, asymmetrical zipper, snap epaulettes, quilted polyester lining) and the Vanson 1017S01 code, this is almost certainly the Harley-Davidson “Classic Cruiser” or “Legendary Cruiser” leather jacket from roughly 2019–2023 (Harley part numbers in the 98008-91VM or 97002-23VM family). That exact jacket originally retailed for $850–$950 and is now discontinued, which is why you’re seeing NWT (new with tags) examples popping up on the resale market for $450–$550.
So yes — it’s 100% real, U.S.-made by Vanson for Harley-Davidson, and one of the last generations of genuinely American-made Harley leather jackets before they moved more production overseas. Very high quality and highly sought-after now that the model is gone from the official catalog.

Please feel free to add any info, thanks again!

I have one of these now; it’s a catch and release for me. Size Large, $300 shipped CONUS. Unworn. I’ll make my own listing next week!
