Been wearing this Levi’s ever since it landed. I took 2” off the length and sewed the **** shoot closed. Being able to do stuff like that in my own home is amazing. Opens up so many possibilities for making things more my own. Might be my favorite denim jacket.

Ton, you’ve been such an inspiration to me over the years, and I’m in awe of your tailoring skills, so please understand I say this with nothing but respect
- you are totally jacked, which makes almost any jacket look righteous on you… but the length , tapered waist and rounded shoulders of this one, particularly from the back, creates the silhouette of a dumpy, middle aged woman.

Simmons Bilt half belt in Appaloosa horsehide today. Haven't found much info on this leather but it sure squeaks like Badalassi

This is just a guess, but I know that Maryam refers to one of their leather finishes as appaloosa and they do offer it on their horsehide. Basically the standard vachetta horsehide but polished at the end. Even from comparing the pictures of your jacket to those in my post from yesterday there appear to be visual similarities though mine is made in leather with their wash finish. It even squeaks too! haha

Below is a link to an article that talks about Maryam tannery and their different leather styles, including appaloosa.

Ah, interesting… I think you're right. "Polished" certainly describes this leather. It's lovely stuff. Thanks for the info!

oldie but a goody today.
My many years old Eastman Luftwaffe horsehide.
Original blue cotton lining.
usually a winter time jacket for me, but in this early morning's jacket decision time it kinda jumped out to me.
28C max on the leg home, with 70% humidity, as hot as you'd want with this.
This one rezippered coupla years back with YKK after the original RIRI expired.
as they do.....

Report back on how she feels about it. My girlfriend's problem with the kind of leather jackets we like around here is that it is just too heavy for her, so it is uncomfortable. She just wouldn't wear it due to it.

You got it my brother my girl is one of these people who is always cold so we had this lined with wool on the inside I explained to her what this would be like she’s seen all my jackets also when speaking with Jl I told them to send me swatches of mid weight and that’s why we went with this horween horse but yes I’m aware she might wear this once and just rack it lmaoo
