A pretty one, Stefan.

Mossant unlined homburg in brown grey. Size 56 with the brim at 5,5cm and the crown at 11cm at the center dent. Looks unworn and is quite lightweight for a homburg at 116 grams. It has a textured sweatband, which makes me think it is reasonably early, forties likely.

Patterson fedora in a grey colour called Tourbe. Size 60 with the overwelt brim at 5,5cm and the crown at 11cm at the center dent. Despite the brand name it is actually French and the colour name makes it easy to identify the maker as Mossant, as it was one of their colours. Weighs a neat 105 grams. Can be worn brim up or brim down; both work well. Soft felt with a nice hand.

I have received the last of my European purchases for now and with the final one, I think, I can make an interesting contribution to the French hats thread. This is a Mossant, likely from the 40's or 50's, in what appears to be a homburg style. I believe, based on the tag under the sweatband, that this was also a style from a particular region of France, the Auvergne style hat. Lille, where the hat was sold is in this region. The style of the hats are usually indicated by a lower crown and a fairly wide brim. At just over 3.5" in the front and under 5" at the height of the crown, I am venturing a guess that this was a homburg made for a retailer using that style. The seller was Lalieu of Lille, France.

Cool find, Jeff. Mossant didn't use model designations for their hats. The colour is gris d'Auvergne, which they couldn't fit on one line on that small label. They also had gris Africain, gris fer and gris blanc.

Hall&Co homburg for Sools in black. Soze 60 with the brim at a generous 6,5cm and the crown at 11cm at the center dent. No label underneath the sweatband, so hard to say who the real maker was. The size label makes me think Fléchet.

Another nice find, Stefan. You seem to be on a role. Congrats.

It's good to see the larger size hats are still to be found.

Though the sellers packaging leaves a lot to be desired, it was nothing the Dutch hat master couldn't fix.

Thank you, Steve. They're still out there and luckily steam is our friend.
