Hi everyone,
A friend of mine pointed out the TFL listing to me. I haven't been active on TFL or in the clothing hobby in general for quite some time. I haven’t posted any listings, nor do I have any jackets for sale. Apparently, someone has taken over my name and profile picture to post fake listings. If anyone has made a deal and paid through a common payment platform, please take immediate action and cancel the payment. I’m sorry that my name and profile have been misused.

Whatever happens, don't beat yourself up as you're not the only one that would have been ****med.
Seemed like a thrustworthy message & urgency for speed for such a beautiful jacket, made this the perfect 'mark'.
All it takes is 1 moment to be taken like this. I would definitely have been very interested if work didn't keep me from messaging. (bummed when i say it was 'sold').
Appreciate it. Yesterday was definitely a low but hoping to put it behind me and move on.
Happy to see the vigilance from the community and hopefully no one else was caught up in it.

I often use PayPal and will have it drawn from a credit card. That way if there is an issue you have the credit card company providing a second layer of protection. Just a thought.

I wonder how we can better safe-guard our accounts? Some forums or institutions requre us to re-authenticate our information once a year or every other so that inactive accounts can't be hijacked. Might be something to look into for this forum.

Perhaps if you have not had a login for X # of days, you need to receive an email with a code or link to be able to log back in with the same PW.

Good point. If the account had Dual-factor (aka Multi-Factor Authentication) enabled, it would have most likely prevented this from happening. Once a password expires (within 30 days or the specific policy limit set by TFL), authentication (i.e. by Microsoft Authenticator) would be required to reset the password. If the member chooses not to enable Dual-Factor authentication, a hacker can keep on guessing passwords until they guess correctly. If the TFL member had not enabled Dual-factor authentication and if their associated Email
Account is hacked, the hacker can easily reset the TFL password. If that happened though… the TFL account may be the least of their worries.
