Dear Midlands Britannic Gentleman,
Thank you for you kind remarks. Yes, and I agree that it does have a timeless classic look, and only hints at it's true age if one has a discerning eye and notices the period pockets. I like to wear it this time of year with my Lock & Co Coke (See Below) when...
Good Evening Kind Sir,
There are several more buttons higher up, however I wanted you folks to be able to also see the liner. Another thing, when the coat is buttoned, you do not see the buttons, as they are hidden under the front overlaying flap.
I wear bow ties almost exclusively, and should warn you they are extremely habit forming! I just did an inventory and found out to my delight that I now am the proud owner of 31 of them! I tell people that bow ties are not for everyone. One must feel confident and comfortable in one's own skin...
I happen to have a RCA Radiola 20, with the battery compartment stand! I would put up a snap, but mine is packed at present. A friend fixed it years ago and I was playing around with it late one evening when I came across a station playing old radio programs from the 1930's & 1940's! It was...
Great Hat,
Nice Coat
Also don't think so badly of your coat. It's a perfectly respectable looking gentlemen's coat. And a self tie bowtie adds to the class.
Gentlemen,
For your enjoyment I have posted snaps of my late maternal Grandfather’s 1940’s oatmeal coloured Harris Tweed Topcoat. I had it relined about twelve years ago. The admiring tailor told me to replace this coat would cost around $800.00, and it would not have the niffy watch or keys...
Hi James,
I wandered back to the lounge after a long break owing to being way too busy, and have not seen you at all of late. I hope you are alright.
Best Wishes,
Auld Edwardian
Natty Looking Coke! (AKA Bowler) I didn't know the there was a German Firm making them. Here is mine from Lock & Co. in London, which made the first one for Lord Coke. Hence the name. I doff my hat to you.
Kind Sir,
I'm very grateful for complimenting my hat collection. It is nice to be able and share them with others that would appreciate seeing them.
Best Wishes,
Auld Edwardian
Dear Sir,
Thank you for the complements on my hats. I will say that the boater is a wonderful hat for the summer. Locks & Co. make the best one I have seen, as the straw is the thickest, with the tightest weave, however you're going to pay $182.00, plus shipping for it at present. I bought mine...
Dear Sir,
I figured out what I was doing wrong and reposted them properly. Thanks for telling me you could not see them. Without you telling me I would have never known. If you look at page 4507 you can see them now.
Best wishes for this New Year,
Auld Edwardian
