Hello there, I have a number of items for sale, wondered if anyone would be interested. I gave away a huge amount of stuff, hat blocks etc. to a young milliner starting out but I’m trying to get a bit of money back on these items;

I agree Esther. It's good to be well versed in the traditional ways of hatmaking and millinery but also important to be flexible and develop your own methods. That's what makes us all different in our craft. Then each hat you make has your own signature :)
I wire the brims of ladies hats and flange the brims of the men's hats. I think it gives a different look and obviously you can't have a raw edge if you wire. But I suppose it's also a case of tradition, like using Petersham ribbon in millinery and Grosgrain in hatting. Most people would not...

Slight change of plan. Having these manufactured. They need a little tweaking and will have my logo on the side but I'm pleased with the design. I think they will work well. Any comments will be appreciated :)
Thank you for all the comments. Good to hear that the chaps (that is the menfolk, not the slightly raunchy cowboy trouser type things) are all secure enough in their manhood not to worry about the girliness of strings. I'll weigh up the options :)
