    I need some HAT help!!!!

Sorry, did not intend to stir up trouble. Just a bit new at the game. Since mine is an open crown, it seems to me I can cross over, but don't know the subtleties.

    I need some HAT help!!!!

So how far off is a fedora from a traditional cowboy hat? Hope this hasn't been rehashed a thousand times, but I can't find much. I feel like I'm swimming in a Stetsonian, I can't imagine if I'm wearing a 3"+ brim.

    I need some HAT help!!!!

I was just looking at the Gus crease @Rmccamey, that makes sense to me! Keeps a bit of the fedora vibe but the sides run longer like a cowboy style.

Thank you both for the ideas! Yes @belfastboy I would love your sources for bands, thank you.

    I need some HAT help!!!!

I have to go to Austin for a big party in spring. I hope to avoid being the subject of Lyle Lovett's "That's right, you're not from Texas" song. I have a grey Stetsonian open crown that has a brim just a tad too big for me but I love it anyway. I was wondering if you think I could put a...

How do folks react to your hat wearing?

@Rmccamey I have to say, you look wonderful in a bowler. Your side profile, you look like you and that hat were made for each other. @GHT Reading your posts across the Lounge, your wife sounds like a charming woman and delightful companion. I wish her a speedy recovery and you both good health.

    Berets, Anyone?

Very cool, @Fern. You certainly know how to pull the whole look together, I admire your style!

Questions about bowlers (hats, that is...)

I don't know much, but I'm pretty sure Lock is THE bowler hat. They were built tough and known to be able to protect a man from a sharp rap on the noggin by a walking stick or more. https://www.lockhatters.com/pages/the-coke

    Berets, Anyone?

@Bouwerij_Jongen, late to respond, but I'm sincerely sorry for the losses of your friends and family. Willamette and Cascade valley are legendary for their hops, of course, so I can't imagine what the scene looks like today. Hope you and your family are safe and healthy in these troubled times.

    Berets, Anyone?

@Daan I'm sorry for your loss. Your friend looked quite funny, and he sketched a very bold line.

    Berets, Anyone?

I hope I can have as much fun as you do when I grow up, @Bouwerij_Jongen!

    Berets, Anyone?

Big berets often look a bit clumsy, but yours looks quite dashing. I think it's the whole shebang of the structured shoulders of your tweed jacket and the dash of color from the scarf. Nicely done, a real inspiration!

How do folks react to your hat wearing?

I wore a porkpie tonight with the bad weather. Normally, it's a flatcap or beret. My son said I look like Walter White (that's a compliment). My wife said "Nice hat Cepice. <pause> Did you wear it out in public?"

    Berets, Anyone?

I've been wondering when —if— you would post something on the attack. Must be so much harder coming from a peaceful and quiet country like NZ. I admire what the Kiwis have done in reaction, it reflects a strong country and good leaders. Thoughts and prayers for all of you, and for goodness to...
