Oh I like that idea! I’ll give stretching another go, and if I’m still not satisfied then I’ll probably try removing part of the sweat knowing I can replace it with leather if I don’t like the results. Thanks!

Has anyone here removed the cotton sweatband from their Sunbody? The hat I bought last summer is feeling a little tight, and I've already wetted and stretched it. I was thinking about the back half of the sweat out for some extra breathing room but don't want to ruin the thing...

My Dune is, sadly, not as robust as yours @itsallgood but I still appreciate it. A couple walks in the rain caused the brim to curl, but I embraced it by evening it out and giving a quasi pencil curl to the whole thing. I then added a mule kick for extra Hank Williams character.

Copy that. I’ll order some Pecard Antique and hope for the best. I’m fully prepared for this sweat to be toast, but may as well give it a go. Really appreciate the knowledge sharing on this forum! I will certainly report any results.

Thanks Brent. I don't think it's dry rotted as there's no flaking or obvious cracks, so hopefully good news? The leather is quite stiff, and I don't feel comfortable trying to flip the sweatband down to apply any sort of dressing/conditioner. How do you feel about applying Pecard to the finished...
