I got out a magnifying glass and counted the WPI. Did it several times on different places and came up at about 900 WPI. Not sure what category that puts it in. fedoralover

No labels, just a mess I found at an antique show in Portland Oregon. Someone really messed up a fine weave Monti. But I got Mike to give it some new life. I count 9 vuelta's in the crown. WPI too small to get an accurate number fedoralover

Nice piece, thanks for posting. I really lucked out a few years ago and found a Langlitz Aviator jacket at Goodwill that fit me perfectly. I called them up and told them what I had and they said if I had bought that Jacket new it would have cost $1000.00. One of the nice things Langlitz does...

Mike, I intend on being there. Hopefully Mike will have it done by then. But he is pretty busy doing some remodeling in his shop so I'm not really counting on it. He's making room for more equipment. fedoralover

Putting in a wire is a real waste if the hat has a nice back weave like mine has. Doing the back weave is an art unto itself and and takes a lot of skill to do. Why someone would want to hide it is beyond me. I just hope that when Mike reblocks it the stitch holes will close up some. However...

I picked up this Monticristi at an antique show last year. Never got around to posting a few pics. It was all rumpled up and someone had a wire sewn under an edge binding around the edge of the brim. It is actually a fairly fine weave. I took off all the edge binding and took it to Northwest...

In doing some research it appears that "Genuine Leather" was a brand name itself and not just a label saying the jacket was real leather. I've never heard of it before. fedoralover
