    Good, heavy-weight donegal?

Wow, that's a great site, thanks! Now I just need to pin down a source for good heavy twill / serge.

    Good, heavy-weight donegal?

I've found quite a few sites offering some nice harris patterns, but for some reason donegal seems a bit more elusive. Does anybody have a good site that offers a good variety?

Now that you mention it, the length does seem like an illusion. Still a sharp look- seemingly long.

When cut properly, the longer jackets can be a really sharp look. The 1916-1923 age had quite a few longer jackets.

Some tips to help those who are clueless about men's fashion

Alright, point taken. Wasn't called for. Don't see how that's relevant.

Some tips to help those who are clueless about men's fashion

Trolling is an art. The whole purpose of this forum is to discuss and praise the styles and fashions of yesteryear. Posting a modern set of instructions on how to dress is a little idiotic.

    Hair cuts

Heh, yeah. Good thing it seems like nobody has produced it for almost a century. I've still got a hunch it's beeswax. Can't imagine beeswax being too sheeny.

Hey, do you guys know what type of pomade they used prior to the "wet-head" look? I see it on shorpy of 00's to the early 20's. They're using pomade of some sort, but it's not shiny, and in some cases it even looks dry. I've heard bee-wax from some sources.

Could anyone guess the weight / fabric of this gentleman's overcoat?

    Suits going up

Eh, it's understandable. Takes a while to learn the button stances and fabrics to determine age, especially of you don't know much of anything about suits.

    Type of tweed?

I've been finding "plain" tweed that fits the bill. Sort've has a mild flecking.

My New Bespoke Gray Flannels - Pictures! - What Do You Think?

Hear, hear! I don't like the thin, wrinklyness of the modern day suit.

    Type of tweed?

Could be an "oatmeal" tweed, too. http://ardalanish.com/produit43-dark_oatmeal.html

    Type of tweed?

Thanks. Been bugging me for a while- it looks much different close up.
