Went to see Shutter Island, finally.
It was nicely put together, but a little bit predictable. Still the cinematography was excellent, the costumes and locations very well done.
I admit to enjoying DeCaprio of late. I couldn't stand him when he was young, but I have liked him in Catch Me...
David Morgan sells hat feathers, 5 assorted for $4. My first Akubra (a Snowy River purchased in Sydney) came with a feather. Lost the feather, then the hat, many years ago. :(
Agreed. Doubly disappointing, since:
1) the boater was typically worn by girls in private schools in England. I know this because my sister had one as part of her school uniform. Before we became ex-pats, that is...
and
2) the Daily Mail is a British news-paper. One would hope for...
Steve Delk (paraphased)
FFF, paraphasing as requested:
From my own Henry, (size 7 1/8" (57) the brim is 2 3/4" x 2 9/16". The open crown is approx. 5 1/2" (difficult to be more precise because of the bash).

Thanks for the link. I recently un-boxed all my pipes, which I have not smoked in several years. Some of them may be in need of the "Walker" touch, and a good pipe repair service is a valuable find.
AR 670-1 Wear & Appearance of Army Uniforms
I still wear my Army beret while in uniform. They are not authorized for wear while deployed.
For the sake of completeness I thought it useful to make people aware of AR 670-1, Section 3-5. It is the current Army regulation on how, when, and who...
This was an entertaining book. The movie was engaging, but the script could have been better.
Having been in the Army, and worked with Psychological Operations I did find certain aspects of this movie hilarious in ways that a civilian might not.
I especially enjoyed Jeff Bridges...
Thanks to the wonders of DVR, I watched The Big Sleep with Bogart & Bacall.
Tomorrow it's Key Largo.
As much as I pine for a simpler age, modern tech makes at least some parts of this busy world run a little smoother...:o
