G-Men starring Jimmy Cagney. I watched it tonight. Actually enjoyed it as much as the Bourne series. The additional material, especially the segment about the Hollywood Code, was quite interesting.

I like sitting there reading with some family history beside me. It is also a great place to start the morning with coffee.

The Chicago Police Department has never issued weapons. There is a list of approved weapons from which officers may choose and purchase. The officer has to be able to qualify with it, of course.

The larger revolver is a vintage .38/44 from the '30s. The smaller one is an Iver Johnson Secret Service Special much like the one my grandfather carried while bodyguarding Chicago politicians in the '30s and '40s.

US Army and US Army Reserve 1972-1995. I mostly served in Airborne, Ranger, and Special Forces units with one tour as a Mech Infantry Company Commander.

My grandfather had a .25 auto and a .32 revolver but no holsters. He just stuck one of them in his pocket. My dad carried a .22 auto on a string around his neck.
