Hello - As a sideline to this thread, an excellent book is "Ghosts of Everest - the search for Mallory and Irvin" which details the expedition that found Mallory's body and has some wonderful background on the orginal expeditions.

Thanks Thanks for the advice and the link to the surplus web site. I was following a MIL-TEC Irvin on Ebay and it went for 350 dollars. I have a WPG version for now, and will keep looking at getting a "real" one. John

Hello - I noticed that this company makes replicas of RAF Irvin's for about 300 Euros. Are there any forum members who have experience of these jackets, quality of leather etc. Thanks John
