Akubra Heritage Fawn vs Tawny Fawn

Taupe/Tawny is very similar in color to a typical cardboard box. I've seen people compare it to Hot Chocolate, too. Heritage is a nice color. I wish they made a Campdraft version.

    De-itching Pendleton shirts?

I have a bunch of Pendleton shirts. After a few washes and some wear they don't itch at all. That said, unless I spill something on them or really work up a sweat, they can go a year or two before a wash is even necessary. I love wool.

What cigar (or pipe) did you smoke today?

My Father Le Bijou 1922 Petite Robusto earlier today.

    Akubra Campdraft

I'm doubting that their site is very current. Overall design is dated and that list of available colors is straight out of 2008. Worth sending them an email, though.

Commonly available jeans - higher waist?

For those looking for a higher rise 505 type of fit I'd recommend Norman Porter's NP02 cut. Probably an inch or two higher rise than current 505's. They're a boutique maker, so not so cheap, but really well made...

    Akubra Banjo Paterson or Angler?

Add the Lawson into the mix as well. Heritage felt, same crown as the Banjo, 3" brim, braided leather band. FWIW - I've found the Heritage felt to withstand repeated exposure to the elements MUCH better than the Imperial felt.

    Akubra Capricorn and Stylemaster

I don't have any comparison pics but I do own both hats. Rest assured, the crowns are pretty much exactly the same.

    VS Whiskey 7 1/2

Up on the block is a fine Whiskey VS. Beaver. 2 5/8" underwelted brim, 5 1/2" open crown. Fits me like a glove - I wear 7 1/2 in modern Stetsons and 61cm in Akubra, both with a little room. Asking $275 shipped USA in the VS hat box it came in.

Fed IV Hat Size: Would you rather shrink? Or stretch?

I'm with the "Order Up" crowd. Fed definitely runs a little smaller compared to the Campdraft and modern Stetson sizes. FWIW - my now "beater" Campdraft progressed from too big to perfect to needing a regular stretch. That's with 4-5 years of sometimes hard wear. Soaked with rain/sweat many...

Gustin Jeans Selvage Denim made in SF

You know, it's funny, Cyber Lip - I typed that they feel like pajama pants and then deleted it before posting!

Gustin Jeans Selvage Denim made in SF

FWIW - I have a pair of Lucky Brand stretch jeans that are still going strong after 9+ years! 98% Cotton 2% Elastane. They were comfortable from the start. No holes, no crotch blowout, just some fraying at the pockets and cuff. Sure, they're closer to white than the deep indigo they started...

    Aero Leather Clothing trial update

Was it ever stated to whom the Stephen Toohey 4am jackets were for? I'd assume it was Iron Heart, since I remember when they first started selling Aero jackets - their turnaround time for delivery was a matter of days, not weeks.

Not to be political but.THIS IS WRONG

I hate to say it, but the vast majority of the youth market this advertisement is targeting doesn't care about whether the flag is being disrespected or not. See also : Skinny white girls wearing Native American Headdresses. It's ignorant.

    Aero Leather Clothing trial update

Sloan, your coverage of this story is riveting. I'm not a leather jacket enthusiast and I don't own one but I've certainly contemplated it over the years while reading the Outerwear section here. As a result, I became familiar with Aero, the Mark Moye debacle, the startup of Alexander Leathers...

    Akubra Campdraft

Does anyone know if this "Fawn" CD at JJ Hat Center ( http://www.jjhatcenter.com/collections/felt-hats/products/the-campdraft-by-akubra-in-fawn ) is Tawny/Taupe Fawn? They also have the Bushman listed as "Fawn", but then it's description talks about the hat being Nullarbor Tan. If the CD was...
