Stetson/Akubra OR arrived today. 3x felt is very nice, heavier than my 25 and very soft by comparison. I will need to try to re-bash to a different crease on the crown as it currently has a sort of pork pie crease all around and it doesnt look right for an OR to me
I should get the Akubra Stetson OR in the next couple of days...it would be interesting to see how it compares with my Stetson 25 OR in terms of felt quality as the A Stet is 3x only
I like the nostalgia associated with hats and since buying my first hat, have been wearing them regularly. I prefer hats to baseball caps, but acknowledge their practicallity when there is a potential for the hat to be damaged in some environments
Just noticing a sudden increase in prices/popularity on ebay for Stetson Western hats in general. I have a theory - Dr Who Series Series 6 starts off with the good doctor proclaiming "I wear a Stetson- Stetsons are cool". Since that time (or my imagination) I've observed hat prices steadily rising.
Ok..I recently bought a Stetson 4x Rancher and like that lid too. My partner reckons I have got a fixation for hats nowadays and I only just started collecting them a couple of months ago
Thanks gtdean48 for the information about the 25. I was a bit confused about whether it was an OR or not. The felt on the 25 is really soft and silky compared to a 3x Stetson Rancher.
BTW What is the difference between Corrals and OR style?
