    Dumb question about red hair!

I'm a redhead too and although I find purple to be a nice color I won't touch it with a 10 ft. pole. Not because of my hair color, because of my skin color. Pale, lots of freckles and ever so slightly sallow. I would think if you look good in purple your hair color won't make a big difference...

vintage first names no longer in use today or not popular anymore

Just had to add one more...my grandfathers name was Regal and I asked my mom if my grandmother's name was, Hattie, was short form of Harriet and in her case it was just Hattie. Of course to all their friends they were known as Hattie and Leftie (from Leftwhich)

    Show us your hair do's....

Antje, would you happen to have any tutorials on youtube? Your hair is really beautifull. I was also wondering what kind of hair cut you have? And the SCARF!!! I'm drooling.

    Vintage Hair and Working Out

I had a similar problem with trying to keep my hair nice in a tough work environment. The thread is called http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?56061-How-do-you-ladies-wear-your-hair-at-work-when-you-have-plans-for-that-evening/page2 Sorry that I'm so computer illiterate! Anyway, I got...

    anyone wear grey hair?

I'm 35 and if I didn't dye my hair I would look like the bride of frankenstein. Except my hair is naturally mousy brown with red highlights. I use henna and as I gray I plan on using a mixture of henna and indigo, so that I don't end up with that construction cone orange color. If I could go...

Where did your user name come from??

My last name is McCloud. Cloud in german is Volke. A couple of my german friends love my last name because of the Highlandter movie and so now I am sometimes McVolke.

vintage first names no longer in use today or not popular anymore

I've scrolled through and I think I can add a name that hasn't been mentioned yet. My grandmother's name was Hattie. I have no idea if it was short for something or not, but I've always liked her name. As middle names I have my father's maternal grandmother's maiden name and my mother's maternal...

    Etsy

I too can find many beautiful things on etsy that are just way out of my price range or I feel like MissChloeCorville that sometimes the price for a cotton dress is much too high. On the other hand for the stuff that is handmade I understand I'm not only paying for the material but also the...

    Pale or Tan?

I think it's very neat that an african american was copied to the point of women wanting darker skin, especially in that era. By the way pale or tan? Freckles. Lots of freckles to go with my red hair.

    *Snoods*

I LOVE my snood. I would like to get a couple more in different colors too. So practical, comfy, easy, and pretty too. I bought mine on ebay from aine06. She makes them by hand from a vintage pattern and the yarn she used on the one I purchased is about the thickness of a pencil lead. For my...

    Cute Vintage-y Shoes

First of all I feel this thread should have some kind of warning....soooo many great shoes! Secondly, and I hope this is ok to do, here is a pair of rain boots (the kind that go over the normal shoe) I found while browsing ebay. The article # is 150602560413. As cute as they are, they're not my...

    Show us your hair do's....

First of all you look stunning in the first photo and secondly...I can well relate to other photo. I'm originally from New Mexico. 110 F or 43 C and no humidity to speak of. I loved Biosilk and CHI, both oils from Farouk. The conditioners were the only other product I tried, I was not at all...

    Interesting article on disposable fashion

A very eye opening article. Of course I'm aware of the sweatshops and terrible labor practices and I had no idea clothes are being used like tissues. In my opinion that kind of behaviour shows so little regard for someone's hard work. I grew up in hand me downs and thrift-store clothes. I did...
