2011 Lake Pepin 3 Speed Tour

Compared to many riders on the tour I have a run of the mill bike. There are some serious collectors on the ride and they have very nice, very old bike, the oldest being 92 years old. Interestingly enough the oldest rider on the tour was also 92.

2011 Lake Pepin 3 Speed Tour

For the past several years I have participated in the Lake Pepin 3 Speed Bike Tour which is a two day bicycle ride around Lake Pepin in Minnesota and Wisconsin. The point of the ride is to take a very relaxing ride in the county and this area is perfect for such a ride as there are lots of...

    Alpine Climber's Sweater ?

Found this on my computer, from the 1979 Yak Works catalog. I happen to have the New Zealand Backpacker sweater on the same page in denim blue. Quite a price difference between the Dachstein and the New Zealand.

    Alpine Climber's Sweater ?

My surplus sweater does not have the army patch on the sleeve and I don't think it has the strip of velcro on the chest. I am a disaster with a seam ripper so I have no advice on that front; "a man has to know his limitations."

    Alpine Climber's Sweater ?

I started typing this and accidentally typed delete, so here goes round two. Dachstein sweaters have not been imported into the US since the mid 1980's. The original manufacturer was Lachner Wolle and they are now gone and Bradley Alpinist found the firm which is making the sweaters once...

Trying to find a supplier of old fashioned wool bobble hats for the mountains.

How about a Dachstein hat? http://www.bradleyalpinist.com/cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=471&zenid=2itims71h1dkbtefnfmol37u50 No pom pom on top, but this is on my list for next season.

Gents: Do you feel comfortable with a woman who is taller than you?

I am 5'10" and most, but certainly not all, women are shorter than me. I've always been attracted to height in a woman and it would not bother me in the least to date someone taller than myself. However since my 21st anniversary was yesterday and my wife is 5'5" it is not likely I'll ever date...
