I love vintage style but don't like drawing attention to myself. You ladies always look SO amazing...love it, but do you think there's a way to dress vintage without having to hear everyone's comments?

@fmw, thanks. I've never been to the Derby...wish I could go this year and witness some of these incredible hats for myself. Alas, I will be sunning myself on a beautiful beach in Thailand, where I will have no qualms about wearing a Panama straw...May 15 or no. :D

The Kentucky Derby has done something new this year by naming Panador Hats the official Panama hats of this year's Derby. I'm partial to the Panama hat and think it's pretty sweet that the world’s most prominent hat event has decided to recognize genuine Panama hats. :eusa_clap

Incredible -- one hundred years isn't so long, yet this way of life seems ancient. First time I've caught an extended glimpse into the early 20th century on film. Eerie. Thanks for posting! Tom, in the comments to this video there was a link to more footage from the same time period...
