I'm not particularly interested in this particular hat. I was just curious if anyone had ever heard of a Panama without a sweatband.

I came across this while looking for a new Panama: http://www.berkeleyhat.com/paexfi1.html The hat is made with no sweatband "like it is in hats worn by the native people in Ecuador." I would think it would stain very quickly. Anyone had any experience with a Panama without a sweatband?

For that quality, you won't find anything better. But be aware that the last that shoe is built on is extra roomy to allow for the use of an orthotic. This will affect how it fits. You might also take a look at shoebank.com to see what else is available.

You are somewhat limited in choices if you need a B width. I don't know of any beside AE and Rancout. Good luck.

It does come in a B width. The Overview says it is made with Horween Chromexcel. This is for the upper. The "imported leather" on the Details section refers to other parts of the shoe. I'm not sure what you are referring to about the "black welted leather edges." The AE is a goodyear welt, and...
