I don't think pumps necessarily look effeminate, but wouldn't wear them, so have gone for option 3. I think they look a lot fussier, and are therefore less elegant, than an oxford. It sounds as though they're not particularly comfortable to wear, either.

The Chester Jefferies gloves have a shorter u shape and lower button position than the ones you've pictured above.

I've got some Chester Jefferies gloves that are very similar to the ones above - the button may be a little lower, and the u-shaped vent a bit shorter.

I'd also be interested in a review if you did order the Magnoli flannels.

Thanks to Hal, who pointed one out on ebay, I am now the proud owner of one of these coats. A couple of problems, though - does anyone know a way to get rust spots out of the fabric, or to re-glue the peeling edges of one pocket?

I don't think a died marcella waistcoat would look correct - because there would be a clear mismatch, rather than contrast, between it and the rest of your dinner jacket ensemble (in fabric and pattern). When I wanted a low cut black waistcoat, and couldn't find a vintage one that was long...
