A journalist once asked Stan Lee about his philosophy of life. He said:
“Keep moving forward, and when it’s time to go, it’s time. Nothing lasts forever.”
When he died a few years back, I was devastated. Without knowing it, whiteout ever meeting me, Stan Lee taught me about honor, determination, ethics, philosophy and true friendship/love. But, I started thinking how, over the past few years, I had become complacent, a pessimist, a nihilist, and even a misanthrope. Pretty much the exact opposite of Stan’s lessons.
So, that next morning, following his death, I packed my hiking pack, bought a few supplies, and began drifting the country. And, I’ve never looked back. Life is short. And I’d rather spend my time seeing amazing things, meeting weird people, chasing a dream, and “Keep moving forward,” until it’s my time to go, and enjoy my life as much as I can.
