The hat was copied from a photo of Wyatt Earp taken on June 10, 1883, less than 2 years after the shootout in Tombstone, AZ. Wyatt didn’t want to brandish his revolver in public, so he had a waxed canvas pocket custom made to conceal his 7 ½” SAA in his frock coat.
