I am sorry to hear that. WP weather is clinging on here, I am happy to say. I have been wearing my Navy and Black WPs this week.

Are any of you chaps following the Six Nations Rugby? Incidentally, a question for Americans: why do you call a Rugby player a ‘Rugger’? We use the term ‘Rugger’ only as an affectionate nickname for Rugby Union.

Is your sartorial choice anything to do with the Rugger? Arans and fisherman’s sweaters are great and I have a few of them, but I am addicted to WPs I’m afraid! Still wearing RN today - the full works this time - patches, epps, pen pocket.

For a moment, Brer Fox, I thought that was a Surrealist poem. We are of course living in surreal times. It has been a good day for wearing a Royal Navy Woolly Pully.

My place or yours, old chap? One place is a real city; the other is an overpriced village in the Fens. I am joking of course. Both of England’s great universities are excellent. Plus the London School of Economics and Imperial College for sciences.

Absolutely. And it’s worth noting the solitary Rifle Green standing out among the myriad Olive Drabs. It has inspired me to wear my Rifle Green again.
