Anyone have any good photos of hatter's bows used for making felt in the pre industrial era? Here's some that I found that are apparently at the Mercer museum in Pennsylvania.
Well that's a damn shame. Wish I could have seen it when it was up and running. I asked if I could get a tour there when I was at the finishing plant but I was told they wouldn't do tours there. I wonder what will happen to all of the equipment.
I know that 100 percent polyester is awful to work with. I'm curious if there's enough cotton content in this stuff to make it usable. The price is tempting enough that I might give it a shot.
Has anyone tried this cotton/polyester blend grosgrain from AgnoulitaHats on Etsy? I'm sure it's not as good as the old cotton/rayon stuff but I'm wondering if it's workable

I'll admit that I'm a bit sleep deprived but I swear I saw a comment on Facebook yesterday about Hatco closing their rough body plant in Longview and that they are now using imported felts. I can't find the post today so I'm wondering if there's any truth to this or if it was all a hallucination?
This is great stuff. Do you mind if I copy it over to this thread as well?

Trying to get a lot of this fur felt production stuff all in one place for future reference.
