I asked about the patina my G-1 is already showing and Shawn said they processed the leather so it would do this. I'm OK with it but it's definitely a point to note that owners won't have to beat the living crap out of their jackets to get that vintage patina.

I wasn't too specific about the leather but it looks like their standard seal brown goatskin. I chose the Wine Red polyester lining, light reddish brown mouton collar, and standard two-ply knits. Here are the customization guides Shawn posted on VLJ:
