Solovair beat the Doc M boots I had in terms of quality and durability.
One pair of boots for me would be William Lennons. Brown tug-o-war boots with rubber soles.
Haha! My paranoia over this has only lasted about two hours over the last decade :). Aero's FQHH in brown is fantastic with some wear on it. I reckon it's the best colour Aero does, narrowly eclipsing Cordovan.
I live in Hong Kong, so I worry about the humidity (although the air con is good), but it's never gotten mould on it and there's no flaking. My Café Racer in battered seal is far more bashed-looking but only half as old.
I occasionally worry that it's about to crack up, but it doesn't seem to even after me worrying for years that it will (admittedly, I only worry about it for a few minutes per year). What do folks think? Has this jacket reached the point where it's finally dying, or have I just been carrying...
Highwayman, about 16 years old. This has busted threads (never 'spread') and has been utterly thrashed for at least a decade in every possible weather. I give it a thin coat of Renapur across the inside collar and on the really creased bits every year or two. This is the jacket that started...
Aero's jerky HH is medium-weight, immediately flexible and very comfortable. The outer colour will start to wear through to russet/brown/pale bits in about three weeks at points of wear (see attached).
I bought a Rogue Territory Supply Jacket (unlined). I doubt that it would hold up to heavy rain, but it's a functional and fairly attractive thing. I don't like heavier waxed jackets - to me, they'd need to be totally functional. The smell is what does my head in.
I had a Stockman that was really nice but it was just too big - it was on the Aero sale page for a long time. The black fqhh was the lightest hide they could find and had worn down to a great deep brown in places. My SB car coat is Prairie Black from SB - it seems to be struck through black...
SB's Car Coat is really nice and very well-weighted (doesn't hang on the neck). Get it without the inner pocket, though, as it's fabric and will tear if you stick too much in it. I reinforced mine with overstitching.
