Room Dancing

When I am at work with something, whether it be on my computer, cleaning the living room or kitchen, mopping the floors, listening to music makes it all the more fun. But there comes a point when I just want to get up, kick the work to the side and start swinging my feet to the beat. On occasion I do. Do you? Have a story to tell? Danced with your spouse? Your wife? Was the mail man at the door and you grabbed his arms and danced? Started a conga line with your family? I must confess I did start a conga line with my parents. it was great!

Share your musical pleasures, whistle while you work if you please.

A million years ago at work, Van Morrison's "Moondance" came on the muzak and I grabbed a friend and we started dancing. It was rather quite amusing.

I'll dance every time there is music, enough space, and a willing partner. (Fortuantely, I have a very tolerant wife.)

One of may favorite things to do is foxtrot around the bar in my favorite local place. The bar forms kind of an island in the room. We get a few funny looks, but overall people like to see others dancing.

The good thing is that once folks see one couple dancing, they often join in. My wife and I have started impromptu daning in more than one place.

Aha, I'm a bit shy to admit it, but I can seldom watch movies with dance numbers without joining in. I suppose I shouldn't be, as there's no one around to be embarassed in front of. But yes, it's especially bad with Berkley and Astaire/Rogers movies. Without fail, I waltz or tap along every time. A silly time, but fun! lol

I can't stop dancing, ever. I worked at a concert hall (sort of like the House of Blues), and I had a heck of a time getting the drinks out --- too busy dancing! Even in the back when there was latino music playing, I was always busting a move. My co-workers treated me like I was crazy. What's so wrong with dancing? It was especially bad when there was a swing band on the stage, because my father (who taught me how to dance) would occassionally moonlight as a bouncer at the club... I'm surprised we never got fired.

What a sweet thread, and its nice to read that one is not alone in having this electric urge to get up in middle of work/cleaning/ect. and dance.

Unfortunately the most exiting dancepartner i had during such a mood were my dads dog.

A sausage dog.. but hey, it managed to make some nice inside turns (ok, i had a snack in my hand wich i moved in circles). :)
