Excelled Cafe motorcycle jacket for the very late 1960s as determined by the sleeve zippers, leather manufacturing tag, linen tags and the dry cleaner address specified for cleaning.

This jacket is in good overall conditon: The leather is in great shape, the main zipper works fine as does the left sleeve zipper. That said, the jacket has been use and definately has "patina" as it is called these days. There is a spot of bron paint on the left abdominal area about the size of a dime, the right sleeve zipper, while it goes up and down fine does not latch together. The worst thing is that the stitching is coming loose under the right arm and around the chest pocket zips.

There is some wear to leather at the end of the sleeves and the line has a few holes in it.

The Measurements. This is tagged as a size 46 and fits like a modern 44. For reference I am 5'8", weighed up to 185 at one point (now down to 165), wear a 16" x 33" dress shirt and typically wear a 46 in a Good Wear A-2 jacket and a 44 in a Lost Workds jacket. This jacket fits me perfectly.

Pit to Pit: 24 inches
Windflap: 20 1/4 inches
Base of collar to bottom of jacket back: 24 1/4 inches
Shoulders: 17 1/2 inches seam to seam--please note this is not a real indicator of the jacket's size due to the bi-swing back/shoulder design.
Sleeve: 26 inches

It is an extremely solid jacket and if someone would sew up the loose stitching and take it for what it is--a jacket that has been around the block, or rather down the highway--you would have something that no amount of artificiial distressing or "time wear" could ever create. This is the real deal.

One of the only reasons I am selling this is that I ended up finding the same model, but made about 10 years later. This older jacket has far thicker leather than the later one which was made in the 1970s and has YKK arm zippers. If it doesn't sell, I'll just take it to the leather shop for the minor work that it needs and hang onto it.

$75 shipped to your door via USPS Priority Mail. Payment via PayPal. I am a no drama buyer/seller who make prompt payment and expect the same--thanks!

I still have this and haven't gotten around to doing anything with it. How's $50 shipped sound?

Withdrawn from sale. In a fit of Easy Rider nostalga, I took it in to get it repaired and made a light copy of Fonda's jacket.

Going to wear it on a ride following the Easy Rider route.
