Just saw this Sinatra-Style Fedora
$109.95 Available in Grey, Brown, or Black 100% quality wool felt

This is the untouchable style, identical to the hats Frank wore throughout his career. It is trimmed with an ample 1 3/4" grosgrain band. It has a low-crown about 4" in height and a pinched front. This hat sports a very wide 2 1/2 snap brim. This special hat has a reinforced welted edge. Sweatband is imprinted with "Untouchable" indicating the style. This beautiful fedora is finished with a custom fitted satin lining. Adds a touch of class to the well-dressed or casual gentleman or lady. Just put it on and swing baby !!!

Say Rafter,

If you are looking for a Sinatra Style hat, new rather than vintage,
check out The Fedora Stores Beaver Brand Jet Set hat.

This is a semi custom made hat. You specify the brim size, ribbon size , color ect.
Duane, who runs The Fedora Store, is a great guy and will fix you right up.
Just tell him what you want and he will take care of you.

I would use a 19 or 22 ligne ribbon and 2" brim for head size below 7 1/4 or 2 1/4" brim for head size above 7 1/2 to achieve the Sinatra Look.

Note that 11 Ligne = 1 Inch.

The only other options that I would advise are a new custom hat from one of the vendors here on the board ( Art Fawcett and Jimmy Pierce both do excellent work. A custom made hat will cost a little more but will fit your noggin like a glove.) or scout e-bay for vintage hats, the cheapest route to a superior hat, although you really must know what you are buying or else you are going to get burned.

Doh!

Seems pricey for a wool felt. For about the same price, you should be able to track down a fur felt.

The language of this first post sounded mighty familiar[/URL] to me.
And what do you mean by that?? Guess you're not a fan of ole blue eyes.
He had more style than most of his contemporaries. You're probably a fan of the velvet fog.

Wasn't trying to imply anything, just trying to figure out where I had heard that language before.

And for the record, Sinatra albums I own to date:

Songs for Young Lovers/Swing Easy
In the Wee Small Hours
Songs for Swingin' Lovers
It Might as Well Be Swing
September of My Years
Francis Albert Sinatra and Antonio Carlos Jobim
Frank Sinatra 'S Wonderful
I'll Be Seeing You
You Make Me Feel So Young

Bencraft also has a fur Sinatra Style hat for $90.00.

It's a Biltmore, which may be OK. I wouldn't buy one without looking at it, since I just checked out new Biltmore and Dobbs hats here in Norfolk, 2 weeks ago, and would not want either one of them, even if they were given to me.

I still say to go with custom made or Fedora Store, Beaver Brand semi custom for a higher quality new hat. Of course budget must be considered. However, one cheaply made new hat will turn you off of buying any more (new, rather than vintage )for some time.

If this is your first hat and want to really want keep the cost down, buy a wool one. I'm sure that once you put it on you will be striken with HAS (Hat Acquisition Syndrome) anyway.

BTW; I have a Baily Executive wool, very Sinata-esque, from The Fedora Store. The price is $40.00. A very nice wool hat for a small amount of money and I still love to wear it. Same color as shown below: And yeah, I would rather have this wool Bailey than a new Dobbs or Biltmore fur hat.

Gents, the only thing I'm guilty of is being a huge Sinatra fan!!
Lighten up. So I saw the Fedora on the Ole Blue Eyes Site, big deal.
I liked what they had to say 'bout the hat.
