does this mean what modern tanneries' teacore is authenthic? or the old leather probably has been treated by conditioner several times over the decades that get absorbed and accumulated into the core and change the blue hue of the hide due to oxidation or just the conditioner has a color and...- navetsea

I suspect the "tea core" effect on older jacket is the result of bone yellow or grey core from hasten drum dyeing like Canuck said, and then with exposure, than faded part become brown from oil exhaust or dirt and grime and oxidation and UV tanning or combination of all those, who dyed leather...- navetsea

as you see... mine is looking mint wrinkle free totally unworn outside the photo sessions, I like uniform, I wore uniform from kindergarten to highschool, but at least they were made to my size, this thing fit me like a tent and padded with synthetic fibers like a warm jacket liner, I wore it...- navetsea

They made me wear this all size horrible vest, mine looks like the 1st time being worn just for the photo session, i wore it 5 minutes in the morning during opening ceremony, and 5 minutes at the end of the day just for group photo sessions, some look like they wore it all day- navetsea

you know the beauty of rolled cuff like vanson without stitching, you can easily lengthen the sleeve. just adding a strip of leather or corduroy or moleskin or canvas after the sleeve liner then the leather shell would be longer too. because in japan I often find youtube clips about people dressing like this especially when they like fatique/ military pants, I suppose they will wear very long tubular body jacket because it matches the rest of their "ill fitting" style...
