When I got my Cedar brown Heritage Campdraft I was a little surprised to find the crown was almost a full inch taller than my older Campdraft.. but I got used to it pretty quick ( more time on the head will get you comfortably used to anything pretty quick). I think it looks great on you! I feel like the longer I wear a hat with a bit of a higher crown or wider brim than I’m used to, I usually start to feel more comfortable. -

Akubra Campdraft first crease, just a straightforward fedora crease. I steamed it first and am now wearing it while it cools down and sets. No wrinkles in the felt and a touch lighter an easier to work with than the FedIV. Brim down looks like I have wings, it wants to have the brim up, but... -

...identical to my Borsalino, just a shade lighter. Slightly wider brim, better fit, ever so slightly shorter crown. I think it will make an ideal daily wear hat. (I also bought a Campdraft, but am still thinking about how to crease it. As well as whether or not I can pull off a hat of that size!) -

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?
...(or at least this morning) a modern Stetson "travel" hat. Nice soft felt in their "Sage". This afternoon I will probably wear my Sage Strat or even my "Bluegrass Green" Campdraft (though I actually wear that one a LOT). EDIT: The Akubra won......(it is VERY sunny, and I needed the extra brim). -

Placed and order for an Akubra Campdraft in sand and a stylemaster in Loden. The former I’ve had my eye on as I can’t resist an open crown, although I’m not sure how I’ll shape it. The latter I think will make a great daily wear fedora and will be a little less conspicuous. I think shipping... -

Chilly morning here after yesterdays storm blew through....Time for a warm hat. A Campdraft Deluxe in Cedar brown fits the bill. SOMEDAY Ill remember to brush dust off and straighten wayward wind trolley cords before pictures lol -

So these have now arrived from Aus. No pictures yet (I'll try and get some shots of them in the wild when I can), but very pleased. To my eye that have that late 40s sporty shape they were shooting for. Those who enjoyed the old Akubra Capricorns will find these a nice hat - and, imo, something... -

I highly recommend the Hemp Stratoliners.. I never got around to getting a dark blue but Ive got a couple Naturals, a turquoise, a green, and a dark brown...great warm weather hats ( Ive got a few Hemp Open Roads too) You can Steam em up and shape easily so maintenance is simpledark -

Take your FED IV and steam the hell out of it right at the front brim break (the place where the crown turns into the brim). Then fold that front end up and pinch it until the felt sets. After that, you should be able to snap the brim up and down. Akubra felt has a lot of variability so I can't...- The Lost Cowboy

Aside from open vs shaped crown and colour options, are there any tangible differences between the Akubra Campdraft and the RM Akubra that RM Williams sells? The website says the RM has ventilation holes, but I don’t see them, which would be an advantage. Also it’s unclear if the RM has a snap...
