...when it’s in a size 6 3/4, but decidedly less so in a size 7 3/4. If the hat has a classic profile I think the 2 3/8” brim makes for a very smart dress fedora. The smart ass in me wants to advise to just keep your head turned so that they only see one side of the hat at a time.....they won't notice the difference.....maybe? What colour is the hat...light or dark coloured felt? I have had minimal success with repairing or mitigating sun fade...- belfastboy

...21 yr old daughter had a baby 7/17. Shortly after birth proud Grandpops was brushing a hat while visiting. Not a particularly dirty hat, just a hat. She told me to stop brushing the hat around her baby! The light was such that the “dust” was apparent. Kinda says it all right there. Smart Momma. B- AbbaDatDeHat

Can the felt you're talking about be scientifically measured, defined so to speak ? Not being a smart ass, I really am curious. The only thing I've understood so far is that some felt from very old hats feels much better than others to you. Not all of my hats feel the same either but I don't own... -

I fully agree with this and I have 3 modern Stetsons and actually like them. However, for the about the same money as my custom rabbits it does not represent "smart" money. Custom hats IMHO are a much better bang for the $$.- belfastboy

...tall, straight sided crowns with a centre dent and a tight front pinch, but I don't want another Indiana Jones hat. I want a hat that will look good with a suit, and make me look really smart. Any suggestions, apart from an Akubra Federation 4 in Moonstone (I already have one of those)... -
